Atlantia and Autostrade per l’Italia accelerate the separation process. The holding company controlled by the Benetton family has in fact decided to anticipate the times and to find a different location from the one it has shared with the motorway authority up to now. So goodbye to the historic headquarters in via Alberto Bergamini 50, near via Tiburtina, in East Rome: Atlantia has in fact decided to move and establish its new headquarters in the heart of Rome, at Palazzo Marignoli, with entrance from Piazza San Silvestro.
The employees of the holding will occupy the top floor of the building, which as reported by Il Sole 24 ore this morning on newsstands has undergone a long renovation, which began before the pandemic and curated by the Foster and Partners studio, to make way for a large Apple store that has recently opened. Of the 120 employees in Atlantia, two thirds are operational in Rome, while the remainder in Milan: the transfer to the new Roman headquarters by Atlantia will take place next month. As mentioned, therefore, the separation from Aspi takes place before the sale of the motorway concessionaire controlled by the holding is completed: the CEO of Atlantia, Carlo Bertazzo, explained that the sale could be completed with closing in March 2022, while institutional sources are more optimistic and estimate that the practices can be formalized by February next year.
