Athletics|Oliver Helander’s race ended in one hard place.
Rome
Expert Lauri Hollo beamed the javelin thrower by Oliver Helander finish at the EC athletics championships in Rome.
Helander, 27, won the bronze medal with his season’s best result of 85.75. However, at first it looked bad.
Helander’s first two throws failed. It seemed that the value race troll is too big again.
“The first two throws went right through. I got the impression that the ankle was sore,” Hollo commented.
Helander threw in Rome with his ankle heavily taped and said he rolled his joint in qualifying.
He threw his third throw last of the entire group. The pressure cooker was hard. A result of more than 81 meters was needed for the Finn to even make it to the last three throwing rounds.
“Well, on the third one, the support leg shook Mondo strongly and he left. For the first time in the final, Keihäski even started in a reasonable position. It was a wild place when there was only one throw and you had to succeed. Best of the season for that. It was a tough performance,” Hollo commented.
“
“There was a lot of competition in the last company, but I still had the feeling that everything wasn’t right.”
Helander vented his tear with emotion. His being had been drained in the opening two rounds.
Then a fire lit up in Karja’s man.
Helander missed his fifth throw. At the beginning of the last round, he was tied for silver, but Czech too Jakub Vadlejch shot 88.65 and won the championship. Germany’s Julian Weber missed silver at the last moment with a score of 85.94.
Helander lunged his last throw over the line, and the javelin fell quickly.
“There was a lot of hard work in the last company, but I still had the feeling that everything was not in order. Out of six throws, only one was successful,” commented Hollo.
Helander won the first prize medal in his career, which has been marked by great hopes and difficult struggles. Until now, the best ranking was seventh place at the World Championships last season.
