Athletics Armand Duplantis improved the pole vault to 619 in ME

Swedish Armand Duplantis broke the pole vault world record for the third time in his career on Monday.

Duplantis, 22, improved his record to 619 in Belgrade. The record was set in the same arena that will compete in the World Championships in Athletics Hall next week.

Duplantis started Monday’s race by easily crossing heights of 561, 585 and 600. A new world record of 619 was set for the third attempt, after which the Swedish star hosted to kiss his girlfriend.

Dominant the Olympic champion has held the world record in his name since February 2020. At the time, he surpassed 617 in Torun, Poland, and a week later in Glasgow improved his record to 618.

Jumps jumped on both indoor and outdoor tracks are accepted as world records for pole vaulting.
