A journey into space activities from the past to the future, to show how cooperation between institutions and universities has brought our country to the top of the international scientific scene. This is the heart of the meeting “Italian space science and research between past and future” which is held at the headquarters of the Italian Space Agency – today from 9.00 – and in live streaming.
The initiative is coordinated between ASI, the research bodies Cnr, Inaf and Infn and the academic world, institutions with which the Italian Space Agency remembers to collaborate “always in the field of research and science related to space, financing and managing most of the associated projects and developed by them “. The aim of the meeting is to illustrate Italian excellence in the sector, describing the role of our country in past, present and developing national and international missions in the fields of cosmology, high energy and science in space.
Giorgio Saccoccia, president of the Italian Space Agency, takes part in the meeting; Maria Cristina Messa, Minister of University and Research; Bruno Tabacci, Undersecretary of State to the Prime Minister with responsibility for space activities. This is followed by the interventions of the presidents of the academic world and research bodies, among others the president of the Crui-Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities, Ferruccio Resta; the number one of the CNR, Maria Chiara Carrozza; and the presidents of INAF, Marco Tavani, and INFN, Antonio Zoccoli, who retrace the role of research and science in the history of Italian space.
