One person has died and another 35 have been injured, seven of them seriously, in a triple collision recorded early this Sunday between two buses and a car at kilometer 210 of the A-92 motorway as it passed through Moraleda de Zafayona, in Granada. As reported by Emergencies 112 Andalusia, the technicians displaced to the scene of the event have transferred the injured to the hospitals of the Health Technology Park (PTS) and the Traumatology Hospital of the Granada capital. The Civil Guard has confirmed to the Efe agency that the deceased in the collision was the driver of one of the buses, which was heading to Algeciras (Cádiz).
The accident, of which the causes are still unknown, happened around 6:00 a.m. At that time, several people alerted the 112 phone of the collision and reported that there were people injured and trapped. The coordinating center then activated the Traffic Civil Guard, the Health Emergency Center (CES) 061, the Consortium Firefighters and Civil Protection. 101 passengers were traveling on the two buses, as reported by the Emergency service, which has indicated that circulation was still affected at the point of the accident at around 9:00 a.m. and that an alternative detour, towards Seville, has been enabled.
The health services have deployed an evolution team on the site “to attend to any health requirement that may arise” and the people who have been uninjured have been transferred to a hotel near the area of the incident. The 112 has also activated the Civil Protection volunteer groups from the municipalities of Huétor Tájar, Cijuela, Santa Fe and Loja, which have provided logistical support to the operations and have collaborated in the transfer of the wounded. The Civil Guard has launched an investigation to try to clarify the event.
