At least eight rockets launched from Lebanon fell this Sunday in northern Israel, causing fires in the Tiberias area but without leaving victims, the Israeli Army said in a brief statement. According to the authorities of the town, located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, seven projectiles hit the city directly, reports the Israeli media Haaretz.

Furthermore, as has become customary during these days of escalation, local authorities asked the inhabitants of several communities in northern Israel, located a few kilometers from the border with Lebanon, to reduce their travel and stay near air raid shelters.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue their campaign of bombings against the Shiite group Hezbollah throughout Lebanon, after confirming yesterday the death of the group’s leader, Hasan Nasrallahin an attack on Friday against the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear last night that the country will maintain its offensive against the Lebanese militia, with which it has been engaged in an intense crossfire for more than eleven months that forces some 60,000 residents of northern Israel to live in evacuations.
“We have achieved great achievements, but the work is not yet complete. In the coming days we will face important challenges, and we will face them together,” the president said in a video message, after several senior Israeli officials have warned, in recent days, that the country is preparing for a possible land incursion against Lebanon.
Israeli forces began a campaign of intense bombing, concentrated especially in the south and east of Lebanonagainst what they claim are capabilities and weapons that the Shiite movement hides among the civilian population of the neighboring country, and against leaders and senior officials of the group, an ally of Iran.
The attacks have claimed the lives of more than thousand people and they have left some 6,000 injuredin addition to some 200,000 internally displaced people who have collapsed hundreds of shelters, according to Lebanese authorities.
In recent hours, the Israeli air force attacked dozens of Shiite “targets” in Lebanon, including warehouses of weapons and rocket launchers “that were aimed at Israeli territory,” the Army detailed this Sunday.
