“45 or 46 people died” in the accident, which occurred on a highway 40 kilometers south of the capital Sofia, Commissioner Nikolai Nikolov, in charge of disaster management, said in a statement broadcast on state television BNT.

“This is a tragedy. We don’t know if all the victims were from North Macedonia, but this is what we assume because the bus is registered in this country,” North Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev told Nova TV.
