Wednesday 23 February will be the date that will coincide with the start of the first pre-season test session foreseen in Spain, on the Montmeló track, which will welcome teams and drivers for the next two days as well. The Iberian tests, which will take place rigorously and entirely behind closed doors, will however allow all teams to finally be able to get the first feedback from their cars, which from this year will have to comply with a new technical regulation, very different from the one in force in the 2021.
Speaking of teams, theAston Martin was the first ever to publish her own test program, officially establishing which drivers will take to the track during the morning and afternoon shifts of all days. Lance Stroll, the first driver ever to shakedown with a 2022 car, will leave it to his teammate Sebastian Vettel the task of opening tests. The German, four times world champion, will start the engines during the morning of 23 February, to then give the seat to Canadian for the afternoon.
