Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of Russia for international affairs, said that America itself is already afraid of its own ideas about the imminent Russian invasion of Ukraine. He noted that the key topic of negotiations between the Presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, were views on mutual security guarantees, Izvestia TV channel reports. Ushakov is sure that Joe Biden does not really want to deviate from the general course of the West, but he is forced to negotiate with our country. What’s more, the number of calls to the Kremlin showed that world leaders were literally lining up to speak to Putin.
“This conversation became a kind of continuation of the Russian-American negotiations held on December 7 via videoconference, as well as the telephone contact on December 30. Today’s conversation took place in an atmosphere of unprecedented hysteria by US officials about Russia’s supposedly imminent invasion of Ukraine. By the way, referring to the likelihood of such a catastrophic scenario, the American side requested today’s telephone contact of the presidents, although it was planned to hold this conversation at the beginning of next week, in particular on Monday. Similar requests for urgent phone calls were made by other members of the administration, who had conversations with many Russian colleagues yesterday and today,” the aide to the Russian leader explained.
The Izvestia TV channel is available in packages of cable operators, in Moscow it is located on the 26th button. The channel is also broadcast live on the iz.ru website.
