Through an interview given to the IGN portal, Jonathan Dumont, the creative director of Assassin’s Creed Shadowsoffered an indicative estimate of map sizewhich he says will be in line with that of Assassin’s Creed Origins of 2017.
We are therefore talking about a game world in all probability vast and enormous, but less than those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla, perhaps considered by some to be too distracting chapters. Dumont also specified that this time the development team tried to create a “real-scale” map, so that the settings are as realistic as possible in the player’s eyes.
“It’s in line with the last Assassin’s Creed games we made,” Dumont said. “In scale, perhaps we can compare it to the scale of Assassin’s Creed Origins.”
“We wanted to have a world scaled much closer to reality. So, since castles take up a lot of space and we wanted mountains to feel like them, we made the environments feel larger in the game. But I would say it’s about the same size as Origins.”
