The most recent chapter in the series Assassin's Creed, Mirageis an independent chapter, but that doesn't mean that Ubisoft doesn't have ideas for its protagonist, Basim.
The information comes from an AMA on Reddit (Ask Me Anything), during which several Ubisoft developers responded to questions questions about Assassin's Creed Mirage and the future of the franchise.
“We are thrilled with the reception of Mirage! Mirage [è stato progettato] as a standalone experience without any [DLC previsto]”, explained creative director Stephane Boudon. “However, we have some ideas on how extend Basim's story, Surely. But as of today, there are no post-launch content plans for Mirage.”
What could be Basim's future?
It is currently unclear how Basim could reappear in the saga. Just because there's no post-launch content planned for Mirage doesn't mean Ubisoft can't make a new game with the same protagonist. It could be a direct sequel or something separate but still with Basim under our control.
Another way to give Basim space is to do so appear as a non-playable character in another chapter of the saga. We also remember that Basim appears in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, so he could reappear in a similar way.
For the moment, however, only speculation and we have no definitive information on the matter. It is also possible that in the end Ubisoft prefers to ignore the character and that nothing more will be done with him.
Speaking of the future of the saga, among the expected games we find Hexe, Red and Jade.
