Former lawyer, common-law wife of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange spoke about the bullying he is subjected to in a British prison.
IN Twitter Stella Maurice said Assange was woken up at five in the morning, handcuffed, stripped naked, and X-rayed.
According to her, Assange is then taken to court for an hour and a half in a cramped van, more reminiscent of a “coffin.” In addition, Maurice was outraged that the journalist was kept in the “glass aquarium” in the far corner of the hall during meetings. This prevents him from communicating with defenders.
On September 7, hearings on the case of Assange’s extradition to the United States began in London. Last year, Washington indicted the WikiLeaks founder on 18 counts, including violating espionage laws and conspiring to hack into a government computer. The journalist faces 175 years in prison.
Assange is currently in a London prison, where he was taken after he was handed over to the British authorities by the Ecuadorian embassy.
