The Chinese Ashun Wu, with a final card of 65 shots, flew to birdie shots, 7 on the last day, towards victory in the Kenya Open, of the DP World Tour (former European golf circuit), which has been played at the Muthaiga club in Nairobi. It is the first victory of Chinese golf in a tournament on this circuit.
Wu, who started 4 shots off the lead in the event, began to put the win on track at hole 4 with his first birdie, which he repeated at holes 7, 8, 9, 10, 17 and 18 to achieve his fourth victory in the circuit. The German Hurly Long, the South African Thriston Lawrence and the Canadian Aaron Cockerill were second, 4 strokes behind the winner, a sign that Wu did not experience any kind of trouble or nerves in the last holes.
The Scotsman Ewen Ferguson, who started as the leader, succumbed to nerves and responsibility and presented a card with 76 shots, which dropped him to eighth place, which he shared, among others, with Adri Arnaus, the best classified among the Spanish. Of the rest, Jorge Campillo was thirteenth with 276 hits, Ángel Hidalgo (17, 277), the same as Alfredo García-Heredia and Sebastián García, Santiago Tarrío (26, 278) and Adrián Otaegui (34, 279).
