The Superior Audit of the Federation of Mexico, represented by David Colmenares, participated in the momentous meeting “ClimateScanner Global Call”, convened by the UN and the Court of Accounts of the Union (TCU) of Brazil. This event, conceived as a global project by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), has as its main objective the exhaustive evaluation of government policies in relation to climate change.
In this context, Colmenares Páramo, in its capacity as leader of the group, shared work tables with prominent figures such as owners and representatives of the United States Government Accounting Office (GAO), the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Thailand and Maldives, the European Court of Auditors, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Budget Partnership, Columbia University, and the Thünen and World Resources institutes, among others.
In addition, bilateral meetings were held with the president of the TCU of Brazil and INTOSAI, Minister Bruno Dantas, as well as with the president of the Court of Accounts of Spain and Secretary General of the Regional Organization of SAIs of Europe (EUROSAI), Enriqueta Chicano Jávega.
The results and conclusions of these interactions will be integrated into the discussions that will take place in the next assembly during the 10th OLACEFS-EUROSAI Joint Conference, which will take place at the headquarters of the Superior Audit of the Federation in Mexico City, in July. This event will have the participation of the 22 and 51 Supreme Audit Institutions, members of OLACEFS and EUROSAI, respectively.
