The UAE sent 6 planes carrying about 205 tons of medical, relief, food and shelter supplies to Lebanon to support the Lebanese brothers, which also included aid in cooperation with the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. And the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, within two days within the framework of the UAE air bridge, and within the “The UAE is with you, Lebanon” campaign.
These supplies reflect the dedicated efforts made by the UAE, in cooperation with international partners, to provide urgent relief support to our brothers in Lebanon to contribute to alleviating the severity of the critical humanitarian and health repercussions.
Sending these aircraft comes in light of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” to provide support and assistance to the Lebanese brothers, and is an embodiment of the approach of the UAE government and people to stand by the people in their crises.
This humanitarian response aims to alleviate the repercussions that have caused an acute shortage of medicines and medical supplies and the suffering of thousands of families from a lack of basic medical services, especially the sick, children, the elderly, and women.
The “The UAE is with you, Lebanon” campaign was also launched to support the brotherly Lebanese people at the state level, starting from Tuesday, October 8, until Monday, October 21, in which the community, institutions, and governmental and private bodies participate.
