CDU chairman Friedrich Merz wants to establish a new tone in the party if he is elected.
Berlin – The tone of communication among one another “must get better again, and these wretched piercings from the meetings must stop,” said Merz of the “Rheinische Post” published in Düsseldorf on Saturday. Merz also announced that, as chairman, the CDU headquarters would be much more family-friendly.
“I feel a great responsibility for this, because I don’t want our employees to tell me at some point that I haven’t seen my family enough because of you,” said Merz. “We will organize the processes differently, with more home office and less weekend work and night meetings. In a Christian party, declaring Sunday to be a regular working day cannot be done with me.”
