On the occasion of the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, scheduled for October 25th, Call of Duty presented “Hunt for Truth”, a promotional video designed specifically for the Italian public. The short film features two apparently irreconcilable figures: the rapper Artie 5ive, a rising star of the Italian urban scene, and Mr. Giancarlo, famous for an incorrect answer given in a 90s TV quiz, which has become a real cult. Set in a dark and mysterious atmosphere, the video takes up characteristic elements of the Black Ops saga, such as intrigue, paranoia and mental manipulation, all immersed in the historical context of the 90s, the period in which the plot of the game develops.
Black Ops 6 transports players to a fictional reality rooted in the historical events of the time, where a dark force insinuates itself into the United States government. The video alternates frenetic gameplay sequences with more dreamlike and surreal moments, with a clear homage to the television aesthetic of the 90s. The production of the video was entrusted to Plasma, directed by Gianluigi Carella, an Italian director based in Los Angeles.
A further element that links the launch of Black Ops 6 to the 90s is the collaboration with Dolly Noire, a Milanese streetwear brand. Inspired by the aesthetics of the game, Dolly Noire created a limited edition capsule collection (1991 pieces) that pays homage to iconic elements such as the key art, the prestige system, the Nuketown map and the Zombie mode. Some items from the collection were worn by Artie 5ive in the “Hunt for Truth” video and presented in an exclusive event at the Dolly Noire flagship store in Milan.
