Ateneumin The art museum in Helsinki was emptied of customers due to a fire alarm on Saturday afternoon.

The Helsinki Rescue Department was told that the museum’s automatic fire alarm had been turned on and that one unit was on site to inspect the situation. At least there was no immediate accurate information on the cause of the alarm.

Ateneum Communications Manager Johanna Eiramo says the entire museum will be evacuated as a precaution in the event of a fire alarm. Similar situations occur a few times a year.

“It’s never an exercise. We have very sensitive automation because of the art. ”

Eiramon according to the situation was quickly over, and guests were able to return to the museum after waiting about half an hour outside.

Eiramo had no information on the number of customers.

Last weekend, the Ateneum was visited by about 1,300 people a day.
