Arsenal continued their good start this season and took the fourth place in the English Premier League with a precious 3-2 victory at Watford today, Sunday, in the twenty-eighth stage of the competition.
Arsenal raised its score to 48 points in fourth place, one point ahead of Manchester United, who meet leaders Manchester City in another match today in the same stage.
Arsenal doubled the ordeal of Watford, who stuck at 19 points in 19th place, penultimate.
Arsenal ended the first half in favor of two goals scored by Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka in the fifth and 30 minutes, compared to a goal scored by Juan Hernandez in the 11th minute.
In the second half, Arsenal consolidated its victory with another goal scored by Gabriel Martinelli in the 52nd minute, while Moussa Sissoko scored the second goal for Watford in the 87th minute.
The start of the match was very exciting, as Laurent Pires scored a goal for Watford after only 13 seconds from the start of the match, but the referee canceled it for offside.
The two teams exchanged attacks from the first minute of the match, and Martin Odegaard scored the goal for Arsenal in the fifth minute.
The goal came as a result of a quick attack, from which the ball reached Odegaard inside the penalty area, to hit it with his left, and the ball passed between the defenders’ feet to settle in the goal to the right of goalkeeper Ben Foster.
But the excitement did not stop there, as Watford responded quickly with the equalizer scored by Juan Hernandez in the 11th minute.
The goal came after a quick attack in which Watford players manipulated Arsenal’s defense on the right side, then Kiko Feminia crossed the ball and Hernandez met it with a double back shot from the center of the penalty area, so the ball settled in the goal to the left of goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
The two teams continued their mutual attack in the following minutes, with a relative advantage for Arsenal, and Thomas Partey shot a surprise ball from the penalty area arc in the 18th minute, but it passed next to the Watford goalpost.
Watford launched a quick attack in the 25th minute, which Imran Loza ended with a shot from close range, which the goalkeeper brilliantly saved.
The response was harsh from Arsenal, as Bukayo Saka scored the goal for the Gunners in the 30th minute after an attack by the team that Watford’s defense failed to stop.
Arsenal failed to translate the chances it had in the last quarter of an hour, so the first half ended with the team’s 2-1 lead.
Arsenal resumed their offensive pressure at the beginning of the second half, and translated their superiority into a third goal, signed by Gabriel Martinelli in the 52nd minute, after another pass from Lacazette.
Despite Arsenal’s clear superiority in the match, Watford’s quick rebounds seriously disturbed the visitors’ defense, and the team missed a golden opportunity to score a goal in the 72nd minute.
Lacazette fell into the Watford penalty area in the 74th minute, demanding a penalty kick, and the referee indicated that the game continued.
Sissoko took advantage of a quick attack for Watford in the 87th minute and a long pass from Juan Hernandez and scored the team’s second goal after controlling the ball and setting it up for himself, passing the Arsenal defender before hitting the ball in the goal, ending the match with Arsenal winning 3-2.
