Another week has passed and we can finally satisfy our desire to continue the series Arcane with 3 other episodes. The Netflix series based on the universe of League of Legends he in fact got it right away an immediate success all over the world, and not without reason given the excellent quality and attention to detail with which it was produced, and these middle episodes are no less. Here is our review of episodes 4, 5 and 6 of Arcane, which make up Act 2 of the series.
Happy Progress Day!
Let’s start this second Arcane review with the fourth episode which opens with a big time jump. In fact, we find ourselves in a Piltover that we now see in Jayce the wunderkind of the future, given that in recent years it has succeeded, with the help of Viktor, to improve hextech technology ea create the hexgates, large portals that allow you to travel quickly from one city to another. Caitlyn by now it has found its true calling and has entered the police force, and it seems that everything is going well on this day to celebrate the city and its inventions.
But, as one could easily imagine, something is moving in the shadows: Silco’s men are in fact bribing a public official to get the pass for their contraband. Even for them, however, not everything goes smoothly, and they fall into the ambush of another Zunite gang who, on flying overboards, will try to break the eggs in the basket and steal all the liquid they were carrying. Unfortunately for them though, they haven’t come to terms with Jinx!
The blue-haired girl, formerly known as Powder, has in fact not only changed its name – going to welcome this new self, the “Bad luck”, that is, as the others used to identify her – but she has also definitively joined the ranks of Silco. And this is where the plot finally begins, after having spent the first 3 episodes laying the foundations of all the characters, Arcane use these middle episodes in reverse to give a incisive and straightforward to history real.
Everyone wants to be my enemies
And in the meantime, for better or worse all the main characters, thanks to this time skip that brings them to the beginning of adulthood, have a refinement of their character and a really interesting personal maturation to follow, those who paradoxically remain more “behind” are the villains / manipulators of the first 3 episodes: Silco and Medarda. The first, although he has now built an empire in Zaun and is its leader, is always overshadowed by Jinx, and even when he tries to get angry she totally ignores him.
The councilor, on the other hand, after having wisely manipulated Jayce and Piltover’s consultation to get where she wanted and acquire more and more power in Piltover, in these new episodes is slowly outclassed by the boy in everything, also arriving almost to have a reversal of roles and be the one convinced to take action at Jayce’s will. That is simply because these characters are not “main” in the general story of League of Legends, or maybe it’s just the prelude to a final confrontation where everyone will rebel against everyone?
When the walls collapse
It is the final episode of this second act of the series Netflix which however crowns it all, just as happened for the first 3 episodes. Also in this lap the twists are not spared, and the whole path taken to get there is an escalation of emotions. By now the damage has been done after the events with Vander and Silco at the factory, and it’s clearer now than ever that the past cannot be remedied, but this is no excuse to give up and not look forward. The characters have been revealed as a whole and it’s really interesting to see how, in one way or another, all are connected.
The sixth is currently, net of the episodes released so far, the most beautiful one and that stands out the most. The events, the choices made, the colors, the music, the attempts of the characters, everything is an elaborate whirlwind of emotions that collides in a strong stance on the part of each of the protagonists regarding their future. There is no more time to stall, and it is time that everyone chooses a side and what to fight for.
What do we expect in the latest episodes of Arcane
We also came to the conclusion of this review on the middle-of-the-road episodes of Arcane, so let’s sum it up a bit. We have seen how all the protagonists no longer depend on anyone, and that this has led them to make definitive decisions, but how will these actions translate? We will certainly have the Caitlyn-Vi couple who will try in every way to stop Jinx from doing further damage, but at the same time will have to decide if and how much to go down hard with the girl given the brotherly bond that exists.
On the other side instead Jinx she will hardly stand by and watch – especially given the trauma she brings with her and the madness to which she has arrived – and it will be even more difficult for the relationship between her and Silco to continue undisturbed: the young woman is far too independent at this point. In Piltover instead, while Viktor will surely look for a way to combine hextech with organic matter, Jayce will be torn between his responsibilities and pressures as a young counselor, helping his dying friend and fighting with the guilt for kicking out Heimerdinger from the consultation.
Now there is only a week left until the last episodes of what is at least the first season, and given that the quality of the series does not seem to want to drop in the least, we expect a final with a bang (do you get it? Because Jinx is here …). In the meantime, however, wait for our review on the last three episodes of Arcane, we recommend that you also take a look at our article, in which we show you all easter eggs found in the first arc of the series and which will soon have a sequel.
