(Last week you read that Alambusha descended into the river to bathe in front of Dadhichi. Dadhichi was unable to stop herself and she was ejaculated, which caused Saraswati to become pregnant. She was born a son named ‘Saraswat’ who later became one of the Brahmins Restored the tradition of Vedadhyayan. Before the story of Alambusha’s reincarnation, you learned that Brahma did not give the boon of immortality to two Asura brothers, Sunda and Upasunda. So the Asuras came up with a trick. Now …
Sunda-Upsunda said to Brahma, ‘Give us this boon that both of us, should only be killed at the hands of each other. No other creature could kill us! ‘ Brahma had no objection to this. Therefore he became inanimate by giving this boon to the Asuras. Sunda and Upsund knew that they would never fight each other. Therefore, it became impossible to kill him due to the boon of Brahma. His audacity grew and he made a noise in all three worlds.
Eventually, the gods again went to Brahma and asked him to remedy the Asuras. Brahma thought after some time and called Vishwakarma, the deva-shilpi. Vishwakarma bowed to Brahma and asked, ‘Lord, what is the order for me?’ Brahma said, ‘You have to create such a unique girl who is the most beautiful and excellent among the three worlds. We have less time! ‘ As soon as the order of Brahma was received, Vishwakarma collected the exquisite and awe-inspiring elements from the three worlds and combined those sesame-like particles to create a beautiful beauty with unmatched beauty. She was so beautiful that what she saw, she kept on watching.
When Vishwakarma presented her to Brahma, the creators of the world were also enchanted by that woman’s beauty. ‘I name this wonderful Apsara as’ Tilottama’ because it is made by adding sesame-sesame to the best elements of the three worlds. This will cause the end of Sunda and Upasund! ‘ Brahma made a prediction. Tilottama asked Brahma, ‘Lord, what do I have to do?’ ‘You have to woo Sunda and Upasund with your beauty and charm. Both of them will do the work themselves! Brahma said smiling.
Tilottama immediately reached Sunda and Upasunda. The two Asura brothers blossomed on seeing him. He was fascinated by her look. The wonderful Lavanya of Tilottama ignited the fire of lust in the mind of both. ‘What a unique woman! I haven’t seen such a beautiful woman before, ‘Sund shouted happily. ‘You say the truth!’ Upasund also said with delight. ‘I’ll make it my wife!’ ‘No!’ Sunda rebuffs Upsund. ‘I’ve seen it before so it will be my wife.’ ‘What happens when you see?’ Upsund also got angry. ‘I had expressed a desire to make it a wife earlier. I will marry her. ‘ Tilottama’s enchanting beauty had taken away the conscience of both. Both brothers quarreled to get him.
Sunda and Upsund had spent their whole life together. This was the first time the two were quarreling over a woman. There was no other woman like Tilottama in the world and both wanted to have her. It was bound to be a fight to get him. Suddenly, Sunda-Upasund’s debate took a violent form. The very next moment, the two took out swords and broke at each other. In a while, the two killed each other! Both the asuras lay dead on the earth. It was a moment of joy for the gods. Tilottama had finished his work. Brahma’s plan was successful. Tilottama was the cause of death of Sunda and Upasunda. Due to this curse of Tilottama, Alambusha had to separate from her husband in the next birth. Let us now tell this story.
Once Devaraja went to meet Brahma with a Vasu named Indra Vidhum. Meanwhile, Apsara Alambusha also came to Brahma. Coincidentally, a strong gust of wind came and Alambusha’s clothes started flying. His enchanting beauty was exposed. Vidhuam got attracted towards Alambusha upon seeing him and the waves started to rise in his mind. When Alambusha saw work-related love in Vidhum’s eyes, she too became enamored of Vidhum. Alambusha and Vidhuam had a strong desire to find each other. When Devraj Indra saw this scene, he felt bad and cursed them both, ‘You two are as weak as human beings. I curse that both of you are born in human vagina on earth and fulfill your wish!
Following this curse of Indra, Vidhum was born as Sahasranik, the grandson of King Janamejaya in the Chandra dynasty. On the other hand, Alambusha was born as the daughter of King Kritavarma. Her name was Mrigavati. By divine coincidence, Sahasranik and Mrigavati met. The two fell in love with each other and they were sure to get married. But before their marriage, the Devasur war had started in which Indra called Sahasranik to Devaloka to help the gods. When the war ended, Indra arranged to send Sahasranik back to Earth. Indra also sent Tilottama Apsara with Sahasranik in the chariot. This was Indra’s mistake but this was the law of the law.
