A diplomat from the European Union said that the ambassadors of the European Union agreed definitively on Thursday to the sixth round of sanctions against Russia over the military operation in Ukraine.
The sanctions include a partial oil embargo and the removal of Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank, from the SWIFT system.
Today, Thursday, the diplomat said that the agreement will enter into force at 0700 GMT tomorrow, Friday, unless a member state raises objections. Soon after, the legal imposition of sanctions begins.
