Dubai Municipality has appointed 140 citizens from various engineering, technical and administrative specializations, as part of its “Our Cadres, Our Pride” initiative, through which it aims to raise the rate of nationalization of jobs in technical and field specializations related to municipal work fields, and to provide its employees with the necessary skills and experience, in line with the goals and strategies of nationalization in the emirate. The Executive Director of the Institutional Support Services Sector in Dubai Municipality, Wissam Lootah, confirmed that attracting Emirati human competencies and talents is at the forefront of Dubai Municipality’s priorities, as it is keen to attract specialized and university cadres and develop their expertise and qualify them with high efficiency, in order to enhance its goals in providing assets and human resources that support the municipality’s readiness. For the future, and to support the goals of the Emiratisation action plan in the Emirate of Dubai.
Lootah said: “Dubai Municipality has succeeded, through the (Our Cadres are Our Pride) initiative, in raising the rate of nationalization of jobs among its staff. Since 2019, the municipality has appointed more than 410 citizens in engineering, specialized, field, and technical positions within its staff, such as inspectors and monitors of construction activities, food safety, and health and safety.” .
Lootah pointed out that the municipality is working to provide a sustainable work environment for its cadres, to enable them to develop their skills and experience to be a fundamental pillar in their fields of work.
Dubai Municipality attracted national cadres who were appointed during the past year through the UAE Vision Jobs Exhibition, in addition to the employment open day it organized at the municipality’s vocational training academy.
It is noteworthy that Dubai Municipality has launched several initiatives aimed at providing opportunities for university students and graduates, including “Future Talents” programs for academic scholarships, “Future Competencies” for summer training in the fields and specializations of their work, and “Pioneers” for recent graduates, to adopt and train graduates. In technical and professional fields supporting the work of the municipality, in addition to launching a package of training programs to qualify and develop its young leaders of various levels and trends, and to enhance their leadership capabilities and skills.
The municipality also won first place in the category of Best Emiratisation Initiative at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the Gulf Government Human Resources Awards “GCC GOV HR Award” for the year 2023, as a culmination of its efforts in the field of attracting cadres.
