The new iPad Pro and iPad Air models are receiving praise left and right; especially the Pro variant equipped with M4 chipsis now considered one of the best products of the Cupertino company.
However, a recent note concerns buyers in several regions, as Apple has decided to remove chargers from the boxes of models sold in the EU and UK.
This move can be interpreted in two ways: as an attempt to reduce the environmental impact by Apple or as a strategy to increase sales of accessories.
Big absences
Apple has decided to include only the tablet and a charging cable in packages sold in the UK and European countries – an unusual choice for the company, which has traditionally always included a charger with its iPads.
As for iPhones, new buyers have already been accustomed for several years to not receiving a power supply in the box; this absence could be a sign for the future, indicating that the company may slowly eliminate power supplies from all its upcoming offerings, in line with its commitment to reduce theenvironmental impact supported in recent years.
However, this transition will not happen immediately, given that during the last event the arrival of iPad 10 was announced, which will replace the ninth generation models while maintaining the same price and still including a 20-watt USB-C charger in the box.
The others excluded
For those who have pre-ordered one of the new iPads in these regions, it may be prudent to consider purchasing a charger.
iPads typically require a 140 watt power supplyso if you have a USB-C model with a lower power, the device may take a long time to fully charge.
Although they are not very common, you can find several compatible third-party charger options on the market, including multi-port ones with higher output power, which may be a more practical choice for charging multiple devices at the same time.
But it’s not just the power supply that disappears from the packaging of the new iPads.
According to what was reported by 9to5mac.com, another element destined to disappear are the Apple stickers with the bitten apple.
Present for many years, they will no longer be included, with Apple once again supporting the move to reduce environmental impact by completely eliminating plastic from packaging.
However, it appears that Apple is only distributing a limited quantity of the bitten apple stickers at its Apple Stores, at least in the United States, to satisfy the requests of nostalgic customers.
It remains to be seen whether this policy will also extend to future iPhone 16s.
