The American company Apple has banned users living in Russia from accessing the spring presentation of its new products on the official YouTube channel.
When you open a link to broadcast in a video hosting, the following message is displayed on the screen: “Video is not available. The owner of the video has banned it from viewing in your country.”
On March 6, it became known that Apple Pay and Google Pay services for cards of MasterCard and Visa payment systems will become unavailable in Russia. For contactless payment using a smartphone, Russians will be able to use the Mir Pay payment service (it can only be installed on an Android-based smartphone), the Central Bank of the Russian Federation noted.
In addition, on the same day, MasterCard and Visa payment systems also announced that they would temporarily stop working in Russia. The National Payment Card System noted that Visa and Mastercard cards will continue to work in Russia until the expiration date. After that, the banks will issue the Mir card.
On March 2, Apple re: Store stores did not open in Moscow. Then the American company announced that the sale of its products was suspended in Russia. However, Apple re:Store stores reopened across the country the following day.
Western sanctions were imposed after Russia launched an operation to protect civilians in the Donbass on February 24. Prior to this, the situation in the region had deteriorated significantly due to shelling by the Ukrainian military. The authorities of the Donetsk and Luhansk republics announced the evacuation of residents to the Russian Federation, and also turned to Moscow for help. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the DNR and LNR.
