In a press conference, he said that from the beginning of the diplomatic incident he expressed his support for the position of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of break relationships.
“Ecuador carried out a violent invasion of the Mexican embassy, violently invaded the Mexican embassy, attacked Mexican diplomatic personnel.
“At the time it happened, we supported the decision of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to break relations and today there is a lawsuit in the International Court of Justice requesting the expulsion of the United Nations from Ecuador so that there is no repetition because was extremely serious, all international norms and rules were violated, What Ecuador did with Mexico is no less important.
“Then it is not a matter of sitting down and talking because what Mexico is asking for in this lawsuit is, on the one hand, an apology and reparation for the damage, and on the other hand the case of the vice presidentbecause he has the right to asylum in Mexico,” he said.
