It was the family of the hero of the “magical nights” of Italia 90 who confirmed the hospitalization through a post published on social media: “Given the countless calls from many newspapers and given the bad news circulating, we inform you that our beloved Totò is in stable conditions and is being monitored by a team of doctors continuously night and day. Forza Totò”.
The former striker has been hospitalized since last Saturday, after arriving at the emergency room of the Civico hospital in Palermo. In the last few hours, unfounded and tragic rumors had been circulating, which is why the family decided to break the silence to shed light on Totò Schillaci’s health conditions.
Totò Schillaci had revealed that he had had colon cancer, a disease that he had defeated and that today would have returned.
In an interview with Evening Courierhe declared: “The world fell on me, I became depressed and I was afraid of dying”.
“I no longer have a rectum and sphincter. But between dying and having these problems, a few small problems are better,” added the former striker.
