This Sunday, 4,498 residents of the Lomas de Zamora party received the coronavirus vaccine. Of these, 3,966 received the first dose and at 532, the second of any of the available vaccines.
And among the 3,966 who were inoculated for the first time, there was a famous person, the “Master” Antonio Ríos, who revolutionized the vaccination of the Puente La Noria Bus Terminal, one of the eight points of application of vaccines against the Covid that is in the municipality.
The cumbia singer 66 years old, born in the province of Chaco but raised from a very young age in Villa Fiorito, the same neighborhood where Diego Maradona grew up, arrived at the place in a good mood, signed autographs, greeted and took photos with everyone who asked, including the medical and nursing staff who work in the vaccination center.
According to those who were in the place, Ríos arrived in an elegant black jacket and blue shirt and met all the requirements as one more, made the line, waited the 20 minutes of protocol after the application and only lowered his chinstrap for the photos .
The musician no longer lives in the party of Lomas de zamora, although it maintains its domicile there. But it is not far either since his current place of residence is in a private neighborhood of Ezeiza, also in the south of Greater Buenos Aires.

However, his ties with the neighborhood where he grew up remain strong and he frequently remembers it in interviews, as do the paddocks – the same from Maradona– where he played soccer.
“We grew up playing ball in Villa Fiorito. There were championships of 11, of 9, of 7. I played well, of 11, it was like Di Maria, dribbled. I loved it, but when we played on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 in the morning and they didn’t pay me more than 5 or 10 pesos… I came from singing… ”, he told a long time ago in a radio interview.
Also, always in the South of the Conurbano, he remembered that he was registered in the club Futureby Gerli. And that, contrary to what might be expected, that signing prevented him from advancing in big football, after a successful youth test in Racing. “I made three goals and they told me they were going to call me, but I was already signed in the AFA and El Porvenir did not give me the pass,” he recalled.
The “Teacher” took photos with everyone at the vaccination center.
Thus, finally the footballer was relegated by the singer who went through legendary groups such as Shades Y Bad Cat before making a solo career.
The Puente La Noria vaccination center is one of the eight installed in the Lomas de Zamora district. The others are in the Banfield, Temperley and Los Andes clubs, the San José Cultural Center, the Eva Perón Municipal Park, the Portal Lomas shopping center (in Llavallol) and the Esteves Interzonal Neuropsychiatric Hospital complex, in Temperley.
Until this Sunday, in Lomas they had received the first dose of any of the available vaccines against the coronavirus 235,626 people, which represents 36% of the population. Meanwhile, the second dose has already been applied to 48,433 people, 7% of the total population of the district and 21% of those vaccinated.
