Antimafia, in the difficult game of choosing the new Prosecutor there is also the name of Gratteri
A complex game that is linked to a myriad of names in terms of appointments on the plate and decisions on new vertices of the two the most important prosecutors in the country, Rome and Milan. A race to 8 for the leadership of the DNA (Antimafia Management) for the succession of Federico Cafiero De Raho, who will turn 70 in February 2022 and will therefore be forced to leave the judiciary.
There are applications submitted to the CSM by six heads of prosecutors, an Attorney General and an assistant. There is also the name of the prosecutor of Catanzaro Nicola Gratteri, who boasts a long experience with the ndrangheta, who had – without following up on it – announced a candidacy for the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office, where Francesco Greco ended his mandate a few days ago. Palermo’s chief prosecutor is also in the list of eligible candidates, Francesco Lo You, which would nevertheless be close to the leadership of the Roman prosecutor’s office.
The CSM will soon decide on the guide of the public prosecutors of the capital. The Pg of Florence also requested the appointment Marcello Viola, which has also already applied for the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Anti-Mafia one. For the Anti-Mafia Directorate, the Chief Prosecutor of Naples is also nominated, Giovanni Melillo.
Finally, for the Anti-Mafia, the three heads of public prosecutor’s office of Catania (Carmelo Zuccaro), of Messina (Maurizio De Lucia), and Lecce (Leonardo Leonde De Castris).
