Hundreds of people enjoy the exhibition of material and military personnel in the Port and the visits in the Arsenal
Anti-aircraft guns, missile batteries, ejection cockpits of fighter jets and an exhibition of fighting dogs against suspected terrorists attracted hundreds of people to the Alfonso XII Pier in Cartagena on Tuesday to enjoy the activities for the national holiday on October 12 . The previously arranged visits to the Military Arsenal gave rise to large queues from nine in the morning.
The Diving Center of the Navy, the General Air Academy and the Army established some of their most modern equipment so that children and adults could familiarize themselves with its operation. There were also health units to publicize the assistance to the wounded and rapid intervention boats in which citizens were allowed to go up to see what it feels like in a boarding action against piracy or in a rescue action on the high seas.
The Canine Unit of the Tercio de Levante starred in an antiterrorist exhibition in which ‘Becky’ managed to disarm a volunteer with a weapon who was facing the military in a drill. This shepherd dog is one of the best trained veterans in this type of assumption and yesterday she gave a public demonstration of her good training.
The activities in the esplanade of the Port were complemented with visits previously programmed and reserved to the Military Arsenal and its facilities.
