Another Russian region – the Kaluga region – was ready to accept refugees from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR). This was announced on Friday, February 18 RIA News representative of the Ministry of Internal Policy and Mass Communications of the region.
He was asked whether the Kaluga region was ready to accept refugees from the LPR and the DPR.

On February 18, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, announced a mass evacuation of the population of the DPR to Russia. He clarified that women, children and the elderly will be taken out first. Pushilin also spoke about the agreement with the Russian leadership, according to which the evacuated citizens will be placed in the Rostov region.
The situation on the line of contact in Donbass escalated on February 17. Both sides accuse each other of repeated violations of the truce and shelling of settlements.
