In the investigation into the murder of lawyer Derk Wiersum, a cousin of Ridouan Taghi, who was arrested in Morocco, is also in the picture at the police and the judiciary. This Jaouad F. was arrested in October because he is suspected of involvement in the (mistaken) murder of the son of a Moroccan judge.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, F. participated fully in communication during the thorough preparation of the murder. A suspected accomplice of F. is still being sought.
This became apparent on Friday during an interim hearing against Anouar T. – another cousin of Ridouan Taghi – and several co-defendants at the court in Amsterdam. The Public Prosecution Service suspects Anouar T. (28) and a number of suspected members of his criminal group of involvement in the preparation of the murder.
Wiersum was shot dead at his home in Amsterdam-Buitenveldert on September 18, 2019. The two executors were sentenced in October to 30 years in prison.
Countless preliminary explorations
Data analysis shows that T. and a few others, including Jaouad F., have had frequent contact during the countless preliminary reconnaissances, which were first made at Wiersum’s Amsterdam office and later at his home.
In August 2019, the later implementers took over the preliminary reconnaissance. T. was arrested in November 2019 as a suspect in the murder case and has been detained for some time. He denies. Because a substantive trial still seems a long way off and the indications against him did not increase substantially, he was released by the court earlier this year.
During his pre-trial detention in the detention center in Grave, Anouar T. had a few visits from Youssef T., the lawyer and (also) cousin of Ridouan Taghi, who was arrested on 8 October during a visit to Ridouan in the extra-security prison. from Vught. Justice suspects Youssef T. that he acted as a messenger between Ridouan and the outside world. He’s still stuck.
According to Anouar T.’s lawyer André Seebregts, Youssef was ‘a sounding board’ for his detained relative and they discussed the legal merits of his case.
