Ubisoft has announced that from tomorrow 8 December 2022 Year 1800 will finally be available on Steam. The launch day was not chosen at random, because it coincides with that of the New World Rising DLC.
So, in addition to the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store, Anno 1800 will also be purchasable from the Valve store, to the delight of PC gamers who can’t live without it.
After all, Ubisoft recently made a complete U-turn with respect to its distribution policies for PC games, returning in a big way to Steam first with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, currently among the best-selling games on the platform, and now with Anno 1800. Evidently the attempt to attract players to other shops, more profitable for the French company, did not work as hoped and, given the crisis of recent years, it was decided to go where the players are.
Be that as it may, still with regard to Anno 1800, the development team has announced that, given the continued success of the game, support will continue for at least all of 2023. No details have been revealed on the matter, but we imagine that this means the arrival of new content, perhaps linked to another season pass.
