Author of more than 30 books, writer Anne Rice died this Sunday (12), aged 80, after complications from a stroke.
A reference in fantasy and horror works, Anne wrote “Interview with the Vampire” in 1976, a book that was adapted for film with Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Antonio Banderas and was a success in 1994. it was even translated in Brazil by Clarice Linspector.

Rice was born in New Orleans, USA, in 1941. She majored in political science and creative writing from the University of San Francisco and started her life in the world of literature in 1972 after losing her 5-year-old daughter Michele to a leukemia.
Anne will be buried in a private ceremony, but her son Cristopher has announced that he will host a public event next year to celebrate his mother’s life.
