Born on Long Island, New York, Pebbles lived most of his life in South Carolina. According to its owners, the dog lived “a long and happy life full of love”.

Guinness representatives of the book of records had declared Pebbles to be the world’s oldest living dog in May.

According to Guinness, in 2012 Pebbles was prescribed by a veterinarian to eat cat food, which is said to have more meat-based protein than dog food.

However, according to its owners, the secret to Pebbles’ longevity was the amount of love and attention it received.
