About a hundred cats wandered in the yard of the cottage in the countryside of Ylöjärvi.
Drain. Kirlia has already found a foster home through the Kissankulma association.
He is not just any cat, but one of the broodstock of about a hundred cats recovered from the countryside of Ylöjärvi. Founding member of the Kissankulma association Pia Viirola estimated the age of the cat to be 7–8 years.
The association takes care of the found animals of Nokia and Hämeenkyrö.
Presumably there are at least two strains, Viirola says. The cats have been taken to the yard, but they have not been clipped.
From Ylöjärve A herd of about a hundred cats formed very quickly in the backyard of the man’s cottage, Viirola says.
“A female can give an average of three puppies a year and have four puppies at once. If there are uncut cats in the wild, their number explodes very quickly.”
Cats are probably inbred at least to some degree.
Viirola assesses the cats as young. According to him, most are from a small puppy to a couple of years old.
Hundred the cat is just an estimate. A hundred cats were found in the yard and most of them had been caught on Monday. We will continue to lure the cats as long as we get enough foster homes for them.
In addition, the association estimates that there are at least 5–10 cats wandering around. You have to catch those cats too, because otherwise there could soon be another pack in the area.

The herd is one of the biggest that the association has encountered. Semi-feral cats were trapped. The cats would not have allowed a stranger to pet, hold or hold hands.
On the other hand, cats are not completely wild, because they have been fed.
“Of course, feeding such a large herd is an impossible task for the majority of private people, so all the cats were a bit thin,” says Viirola.
“The cats have definitely caught birds, mice and moles.”
Association notice cats learn to be indoors. The cats are examined at the vet, vaccinated and otherwise taken care of.
Viirola praises the herd as calm and social. He believes that cats will tame and get used to home care quickly.
