(Reuters) – The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved this Thursday a periodic tariff review for Neoenergia Brasília, with an average effect for consumers of 11.1% as of Friday.
According to Aneel, the most representative items in the review were costs with sector charges and with the purchase of energy – the latter impacted in particular by bilateral energy purchase contracts, updated by the IGPM and under the influence of exchange rate variation.
Tariff reviews are provided for in the concession contracts and are intended to achieve a balance in tariffs based on the remuneration of the companies’ investments aimed at the provision of distribution services and the coverage of expenses effectively recognized by Aneel, according to the regulator.
According to a note from Neonergia, the reversal of the remaining balance of the Covid Account, the use of tax credits referring to the exclusion of ICMS from the PIS/COFINS basis, deferral of the purchase of energy from Itaipu, as well as the financial related to the Water Shortage banner, contributed to reduce the average effect on the consumer.
