Andy Murray has eliminated first-seeded Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals at the Stuttgart grass tournament.
The Scottish former world No. 1 and two-time Wimbledon winner reached the semi-finals for the second consecutive tournament, again on grass. He won 7-6 (4), 6-3 against Tsitsipas.
The 35-year-old Murray is the number 68 in the world ranking. He won Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016 and also took his first of two Olympic titles on the grass in London in 2012.
In the first set, Murray won in the tiebreak after neither player took any breaks. In the second set, the Scot once won the save against Tsitsipas. That was enough for the win. Murray will face the winner of the match between Australian Nick Kyrgios and Hungarian Marton Fucsovics in the semifinals.
