Even though Elden Ring It has been widely received by the media thanks to its fantastic gameplay, spectacular use of the open world, and strong art direction, technical performance is the only real problem that many have pointed out. Thus, an analysis has revealed that this title can barely reach 60fps on consolesand on PC things can be better.
According to an analysis by Digital Foundry, which was carried out with version 1.02 of the game, Elden Ring on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S it has several problems with the frame rate. This game has two performance modes. The first is focused on giving fps a priority. However, it has been mentioned that here we find a range between 45 and 60fps. On the other hand, in the visual quality option, the standard becomes 30 to 60fps.
Although at the moment there is no solution that provides a stable 60fps on next-gen consoles, Digital Foundry offers a couple of alternatives. In the case of the Xbox Series X|S, it is possible to make use of the variable refresh rate (VRR) on the screens that offer the necessary support. On the other hand, PlayStation users who want high frame rate need to play PS4 version on PS5. However, this means that the resolution won’t be as high, and the textures will lack a bit of detail.
Regarding the PC version, screen problems of up to 250 milliseconds in duration are reported when new effects, enemies and areas appear on the screen. Similarly, there is talk of a lack of ultrawide screen support, for frame rates above 60fpsand unintuitive graphics options that lack visible scaling.
Although future updates and patches are expected to provide a fix, many of these problems were not an inconvenience for many people, as this title received perfect ratings. It will be interesting to see how the public reacts to these details.
