Odnoklassniki and Kultura.RF launched the project “I speak Russian”
The social network Odnoklassniki (OK) and Kultura.RF launched an unusual project for Russian Language Day, which is celebrated on June 6. It is intended to draw attention to the richness of the Russian language and its components: dialectisms, proverbs and sayings. This is stated in a press release received by the editors of Lenta.ru.
The key activity of the project will be the creation of an online dictionary of dialectisms, which will include words such as “vekhotka”, “badlon”, “sikarashka”, “tolchenka”, “chifanka” and others. Users of social networks will be given the task of writing dialecticisms with the correct accent, explaining their meaning and giving an example of use. The authors of the best comments will be awarded prizes.
In addition, as part of the project “I speak Russian,” from June 6 to July 1, cards with proverbs and sayings will be published in the official group of the Culture.RF portal in OK. Thanks to them, users will be able to find out the origin of famous expressions. For example, why is a busy person called a “business sausage” and where does the expression “a vigorous louse” come from?
There will also be live broadcasts dedicated to the origin and heterogeneity of the Russian language, its history and the debunking of myths on this topic. Experts will talk about how the language of social networks became everyday language, how it influenced the literary language and what awaits the Russian language in a century.
Earlier it was reported that on the eve of Russian Language Day, the Russian Mission to the UN organized an exhibition dedicated to the Russian language, Russian folklore and fairy tales of the Russian writer within the walls of the headquarters of the world organization.
