The statement of the Security Media Cell stated that “three drones approached at dawn today from the southern perimeter of Balad Air Base in Salah al-Din Governorate and were seen with the naked eye by the force charged with protecting the external towers.” The statement stated that it was “confirmed that they were hostile aircraft, and the force charged with protecting the external towers opened fire towards these planes, which fled.”
