In the city of Bugulma in Tatarstan, a block of ice and snow fell from the roof of a house onto two children. With various injuries, they were hospitalized in the central district hospital.
Inkazan.ru clarifies that the incident happened on February 24 in the morning, when a woman with children was leaving the entrance of the house on Tsiolkovsky Street. A two-year-old girl and a seven-year-old boy were crushed by a snowball.
Medics arrived at the scene and quickly transported the children to the hospital. The girl was diagnosed with injuries to the head, abdomen and spine, her brother also suffered head injuries and a pelvic fracture.
The Republican Ministry of Health said that the children are in a state of moderate severity.
Ruslan Galiev, senior assistant to the prosecutor of the republic for media relations, told the agency that the oversight agency is conducting an investigation into this incident. The Investigative Committee of the ICR stated that a criminal case had been opened on this fact due to the provision of services or the performance of work that did not meet safety requirements.
It is known that Antey Management Company LLC serves this house. Previously, the company received a submission demanding that the roof of the house be cleared of snow and ice.
On February 23, it was reported that the prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region organized an investigation into the fact that ice had fallen on a woman from the roof of a building in the village of Bogorodsky, Sergiev Posad urban district. The woman died from her injuries.
