The man, who was reported to the Carabinieri, wanted to get the covid certificate that will be required in the country as of Monday to enter places of entertainment, bars and restaurants
The unfounded fear of the Covid-19 vaccine that exists in part of the Italian population leads to situations as ridiculous as the one that took place on Thursday night at a vaccination center in Biella, in the northwest of the country . There, a 50-year-old man presented himself using a fake silicone arm in which he pretended to be injected. He hoped to achieve the so-called ‘super green pass’, which will be required in Italy from Monday to enter entertainment venues, bars and restaurants.
Only those vaccinated and those who have had the disease in the last six months can access this certificate with which the Government of Mario Draghi intends to promote the vaccination campaign. At the moment it is succeeding because in recent days the number of first doses given by the health authorities has doubled.
Fortunately, Biella’s anti-vaccine trick did not work, as the nurse who had to inoculate her with the serum discovered the deception, after which the man, who ended up being reported to the Carabinieri, tried to convince her to play along. Although he acknowledged that this episode can be funny, Alberto Cirio, president of Piedmont, the Italian region where Biella is located, considered that it was a “very serious situation that offends the seriousness of the health system” of this territory, which is among the first in Italy in percentage of vaccinated population. However, there are still 12% of Italians over 12 years old who have not yet had a single injection against covid-19.
