President Andrés Manuel López Obrador exhibited a message that he posted on Twitter Reyes Rodriguez, substitute president of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Power (TEPJF), in which he insulted him, which he assured that he is degrading.
López Obrador showed the tweet during his morning conference at the National Palace.
“I do not know if they have the magistrate’s tweet, with everything as he put it. Notice and now the president of the electoral tribunal, it is degrading,” he commented.
He said that there is a “crisis situation” in the Electoral Court, after yesterday the magistrate José Luis Vargas Valdez was dismissed as president of the TEPJF, for which he considered it necessary to reform it together with the National Electoral Institute (INE).
“The truth is that there is a crisis situation in the Electoral Tribunal, a breakdown. Hence the need to reform both the INE and the Electoral Tribunal.
“I learned yesterday that the magistrates met and dismissed the president and it turns out that the president they elected on one occasion insulted me and I commented on it to prove the characteristics of the people who occupy these important positions. The moral level of magistrate judges, the organism that is the last instance whose resolutions are final “, he affirmed.
Yesterday, the magistrate José Luis Vargas Valdez was dismissed by a majority who accused him of betrayal and abuse, and he ignored Reyes Rodríguez Mondragón as his substitute and alleged improper exercise of functions.
Subsequently, the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation had three presidents: one dean, one expelled and another with express appointment. And nobody has the absolute certainty of which is the constitutional one and which one will remain only as legitimate.
After this, Vargas Valdez reported that he will turn to the SCJN to define who is the president of the Electoral Tribunal.
