The event, called “MOVER Day”, celebrates a year of public commitment assumed by the participating companies. The action involves holding a live with conversation circles, videos, interviews and the participation of recognized personalities in the fight for racial equality, such as Luana Génot, executive director of the Instituto Identidades do Brasil (ID_BR); Grabriela Augusto, director of Transcendemos; and Helen Pedroso, director of Institutional Relations of the UN Global Compact’s Brazil Network.
To sensitize the more than 37,000 employees, Anna Saicali, CEO of fintech Ame and IF, Americanas SA’s innovation engine, invited the team to participate in this live. The company understands that there is still a lot to do and is seeking to advance the racial agenda by offering vacancies in events aimed at blacks in the job market, such as Afropresença, in addition to promoting literacy on racial and gender inclusion in internal forums. The work with MOVER is in line with the company’s purpose of adding the good things in the world to improve people’s lives and is part of Americanas SA’s ESG strategy – acronym for environmental, social and governance – for promotion diversity and reducing inequalities, the theme of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 of the UN’s 2030 Agenda.
Pillars of Transformation
The companies that are part of MOVER are committed to investing in training and job creation through three pillars: leadership, employment and training and awareness.
In the first pillar, MOVER’s goal is to generate 10,000 new positions for blacks in leadership positions by 2030 through inclusive recruitment and development. In the field of employment and training, the objective is to create opportunities for 3 million people by offering courses, supporting black entrepreneurs and connecting with the market. In the awareness pillar, MOVER acts as a support platform for the goal of having a population aware of racism, with communication on the subject to the entire value chain of the companies.
