Helsinki After a five-year break, the Roosters are celebrating the Finnish American football championship. Roosters beat Seinäjoki Crocodiles 49–14 in the Vaahteramalja played at Töölö’s Bolt Arena.

Playmaker Ambro Urjansson threw for five touchdowns on Sunday. Johannes Jauhiainen made three and Ethan Greenfield two touchdowns.
One of the Roosters’ goals came after a scrum. Urjansson threw backwards to Bryce Nunnellywho reached with his throw from the goal area Rene Rautiainen from the next game Oskari Toijalan after a power outage.
In the second half, Nunnelly caught Urjansson’s throw in the goal area. Anssi Ruohonen succeeded in all seven of his extra point kicks.
Useless the penalties messed up the Roosters game badly at the beginning. It gave the Crocodiles a lot of free field position, but when the nervousness wore off, the people from Helsinki went about their business.
The head coach To Juha Hakala could be given a championship bath about three minutes before the decision.
The Roosters won eight championships in a row between 2012 and 2019, but only made it to the Maple Bowl once in the four autumns after that. Now the Roosters returned to a familiar place and were the best in the regular season as well.
Crocodiles already lost their third consecutive Maple Bowl. Seinäjoki’s only championship is from autumn 2001.
