Hyundai has given an important turn to its latest presentations in recent times. The Korean firm has held the so-called event in the last few hours ‘N Day 2024’. This contest has been dedicated to the passion and fun of driving. So much so that the brand has released a new conceptual model that evokes all these feelings. Specifically, it has been a vehicle called Hyundai RN24with an ultra-light, minimalist design and with features as its main attraction.
“The RN24 exemplifies Hyundai N’s commitment to advancing electric sports car technology by prioritizing the driving experience rather than numbers and specifications. “This rolling lab demonstrates that there is still untapped potential for high-performance electric vehicles and, with new technologies on the horizon, there is much to look forward to,” he said. Joon Parkvice president of N Brand Management Group.
Hyundai shows its proposal for an authentic electric sports car
It is obvious that the Hyundai RN24 is not a conventional car. Its aesthetics It is more similar to that of a kart than to that of a typical electric vehiclewhether SUV, compact or utility type. On the front, its similarity to the design language of other company models is made clear. At the rear there are optical groups with LED diodes with a ‘pixel’ type design. It also includes a generous rear spoiler, as well as a roll cage that surrounds the entire vehicle.
The cabin It is focused on pure competition. Its two seats have extremely sporty bucket seats, as well as a racing steering wheel and other controls of the same type.
The Hyundai RN24 is based on the same evolved E-GMP platform as the IONIQ 5 N. Like the electric sports car that is marketed, it incorporates a double electric motor with 650 HP of power and an 84 kWh capacity battery. However, the company has slightly modified the aforementioned platform to cut it by 340 mm, which makes this electric vehicle barely the length of a Hyundai i20.
Its natural focus is that of a competition car, although it could not be homologated under any explicit league. It is equipped, among other things, with a torque vectoring system with which impressive skids can be achieved on board. It also integrates an explicit suspension configuration, designed for the World Rally Championship, as well as highly rigid auxiliary frames.
Of course, this will not be an electric model that ends up reaching the market as can be seen in these images. However, it does open the door to future sports solutions for models signed by Hyundai N.
