SWealth managers go through tough times when both the stock and bond markets fall. That was the case in the first half of the year, when inflationary pressure, a turnaround in interest rates and the war in Ukraine hit the markets. In the meantime, a divergence between the equity and bond markets can be observed again: if prices fall in one market, investors reallocate funds to the other.
Nevertheless, the Frankfurt asset manager Prime Capital, which manages 4.3 billion euros for institutional clients such as insurers or pension funds with 120 employees, continues to rely on strategies that are as independent as possible of developments on the overall market. Almost 1 billion euros are in the two umbrella hedge funds, which attract with an annual return of 7 percent. The flagship is the PCAM blue chip, which has posted a positive return of 4.7 percent in what has been a difficult year so far.
