Alpine has unveiled the new range related to A110, currently the only car produced by the brand. The House, which is part of the Renault group, has further differentiated the models available, updating the A110 base and adding the GT and S version.
The S version stands out particularly, as it is the top of the range. With a 1.8 turbo four-cylinder engine and a 7-speed Getrag dual wet clutch automatic transmission, it does not fear comparison with other compact sports cars on the market. The “Sport” chassis enhances the engine’s potential from 300 hp and as an option it offers Michelin PS Cup 2 Connect semi-slick tires and a specific aerodynamic kit to satisfy drivers who are looking for a more dynamic drive, especially on the track.
The kit consists of a carbon rear wing for better downforce, a carbon front blade and a fairing that extends to the front under the car to increase the effectiveness of the rear extractor and flat floor. With these additions the car can reach speeds of 275 kilometers per hour, with a downforce of 60 kilos at the front and 81 at the rear. In any case, the new ‘S’ is the first Alpine A110 to feature a rear wing. But there is not only that, as the car got recalibrated springs and anti-roll bars, specific train geometry, 50% stiffer coil springs, shock absorbers set accordingly, hollow anti-roll bars to reduce weight to a minimum and more. 100% stable, ground clearance reduced by 4 mm, and calibrated hydraulic steering stops. The curb weight is now around 1140 kilos.
Exterior equipment includes black Alpine monogram, bright black 18-inch ‘GT Race’ wheels, 215/40 R18 front and 245/40 R18 rear tires and orange brake calipers. The passenger compartment features high-end finishes with 2-way adjustable Sabelt Sport seats, aluminum sports pedals and interior fully upholstered in microfiber with orange stitching (this by combining the Microfibre Pack and Sabelt Racing Seats options). The orange seat belts, 100% microfiber seat covers and the provision for installation of 6-point seat belts are specific options for the interior of the model.
In addition to the S badge at the rear and on the door sills, the new A110 S can show an exclusive two-tone Orange Feu (Fire Orange) body with a Deep Noir roof (Deep Black), which can be appreciated in the photo gallery. The new Alpine A110 S will be sold starting at 73,050 euros, about 13 thousand euros more than the basic version. According to reports from Renault, it can already be ordered.
