Alpine skiing Swedish alpine skiers don’t care about the slopes in Levi, the Finnish authorities quarantined the whole team

The Swedes are exploring the possibility of a speedy return.

Swedish the alpine skiing country team was subjected to corona quarantine in Kittilä, as one of the team’s executives was exposed to a coronavirus infection during an entry check. Swedish quarantine was reported by the Swedish broadcaster SVT.

The decision means the Swedes will not compete in the Levi World Cup over the weekend.

“The Finnish authorities have decided on quarantine,” said the leader of the Swedish alpine team Tommy Eliasson To SVT.

Previously on Thursday, the Swedes speculated that the women’s national team coach Christian Thoman a positive test result would not jeopardize the participation of the Swedish team in the competition.

The Swedes are now trying to find a way for the team’s athletes and other staff to get home from Levi. The opening weekend of the Women’s Slalom World Cup is Saturday and Sunday.

For now one Swedish infection is the only reported coronary case in Levi.

On Wednesday, 180 people arrived in Kittilä on a direct flight from Zurich, and their corona tests were negative. Athletes and members of maintenance teams were present. They underwent rapid tests at Kittilä Airport.
